Here are some
great links to sites on Privateering (&
Pirates)::
Cindy Vallar's Thistles and
Pirates
Cindy looks at privateers and pirates
from both a non-fictional and fictonal account. She has written many
great articles, and has some good information on maritime history. I
highly recommend taking a look at her site -- and remember
if it ain't sco'ish -- it's crap!
No Quarter
Given
This is the internet who's who of
pirates and privateers. I can think of no better source to start
pyratical research from! It is the "clearinghouse for those
interested in pirates, privateers & nautical history. Whether ye
be interested in the buccaneers and privateers of the Caribbean Sea,
the Elizabethan Sea Dogs, the Barbary Corsairs or Jean Laffite's
pirates of Barataria, we'll be havin' something of interest to
ya."
The
Canadian Privateering Homepage
A great site dealing with primarily
Canadian and British privateers. You'd have to say that this
is one great source for Canadian mariners eh? and the best part is
you don't even have to be a Canadian to enjoy
it!
The Mother Of All
Maritime Links
You can't pass this one up!! Truely an
exhaustive list of both online and offline resources for everything
nautical! Definitely take a look!
Richard
Washington's Black Beard's Castle
A great source of
links to information about the late & great Edward Teach, aka
"Blackbeard" -- here ye'll find a galleon full of
great information. You may have to dig a little -- but the treasure
is there for the plundering!!!
